Black People

BLACK PEOPLE

We are the wheel
that makes the world go, on our backs the culture grows. From Rock-and-roll, Jazz, Hip hop and soul. We are in our music, but they do not tell our history. You see us on Television as thugs, hoods, and crooks. Never seeing us at all, you see what you call great in America from us they took.
We are not the lies

they tell of the lazy man they try to portray, slavery was real and that pain we still feel today. We will do bad by ourselves, but together we will rise to meet the challenges of the wrongs in America and the world. One can make a difference, so be the difference you want to make.
We know we’re

overlooked, mistreated and judge before we have time to take a seat at the table of opportunities. That give us reason to endure, grit to not give in, give up or to lie to ourselves about this is it. No, we are Royalty from Kings and Queens we come, doctors of invention, creators of more than false superstition.

We are the cradle of

life, the beginning of all that is and will be. We can’t give up. We are the future of what is being if we let ourselves come together United then and only then can we all be free. Money is good but owning the bank is better, having a great career is a blessing, but teaching our youth the path to reach their goal is a lasting lesson.
We can blame them

for this and that held down incarcerated for no other reason than being young and black. The day has come when we must take up our arms, to hold up one another so we can wake up to the drum of unity. They did us wrong, but we did us worse, we fell for the Willie Lynch curse.  We grew fearful of death. Instead of fearing death we should embrace the legacy that is black power, black unity, and black resilience. We are all margins, and not the lines in the story. Why give into quit and the fool of shame any more glory. Control the narrative and tell our stories, we are more than their slanted point of view. We must never forget, those slaves are us, those born free are us, you are me and I am you.

We are not less than

we are more than color, muscles and beautiful kinky hair. We are Black Royalty and it’s about time we act as such. Pull up our pants, take responsibility for what we have control over which is our minds, actions and how we treat ourselves and our community. Do we have much to be upset about, yes we do?
Here is where we

must get a grip expecting them to accept us and America's torrid history and brutal treatment of us on their own is nothing more than a pipe dream. If you want to get our desserts, do what you know to do which is to be our best, don’t pull down your sister and brother to make the majority accept you. Instead, pull your brothers and sisters up with you.

Now, all won’t go

nor will they want to make a change for the good; don’t hate pray, that one day they will awaken to who they are, don’t let their lack of drive, drive you to quit. Instead, let that be fuel for your next challenge, your next battle, your next opportunity, to be all that you can be. No matter what you think we all are connected and skin is that a color they used to oppress you.

Don’t fall

for the trick of complacency and self-pity. If we don’t come together, we will always be the victims of our division. Together we are unstoppable but divided we all fall into obscurity. Change comes from within us not from outside of us. Black people let’s unite today so tomorrow we can make the changes we seek, which is to make the world a better place for all.
