Where is Silence?
I was born in the
city, where silence is rarely found.
I look for her
diligently,
where she is, quiet is always somewhere around.
In the city where
the hustle and bustle is loud and clear,
but silence is nowhere...near
I look, high and search low, but I can't seem to find silence!
In my search, I trip over, brokenness, pain, and violence.
Run to the hallowed halls of the library,
where silence is so often on display and noise is tip-toeing around,
afraid to come out and play, but on this day,
I hear more ruckus than
silence and quiet ways.
So now I'm left with
noise and not the silence I frantically seek.
Where is silence? Where is Quiet?
In the city, the
urban jungle
Why can't I find
silence?
I need her before I
lose my sanity.
In the concrete streets of the city
In the city where
horns honk and drivers squawk at passersby.
Where wheels screech
and common folk' speak loud on public streets.
Where busses sigh
and cars thump as they roll by.
On those days where
the sun is dim and the fog is all around.
You would think that
silence would be among the smoke.
But she's not; I'm
starting to lose hope.
I may never find
silence in the city.
She appeared from among the morning dew when
the day was young
and the skies were covered in midnight
blue.
If stars could
speak, you would hear them say,
"Silence, she is wrapped in each twinkle we relay."
I finally found her,
my long lost love; I found silence in the city.
She beckons unto me
from the heavens high above.
She descends to my position in the city, slowly, often with no one ever aware
When I listened and
stood perfectly still, I heard quite speak
Quiet stated, unapologetic, I am glad you waited
"I'm here, I'm here."
Silence……….. how peaceful.
Silence...is golden. Just like that, noise rushed in and the still air
was filled once again, with the sounds of the city
Silence, for a brief moment, showed her face,
then almost instantaneously
She hid.... in the
sunrise and laid under the covers of daybreak.
Silence in the city is gone.....
