Shade

Why YOU throwing shade?

YOU throw shade when someone's LIGHT is shining so, so, bright,
I would think, YOU would be happy, cheer and tell them good job way to go,
they did their thing, but no, not you, YOU just get jealous and seeking to douse their fire giving light.

So YOU throw shade to lessen their impact, add a little darkness on their walkway of life,
oh no, they didn't… thinking they all that, they ain't, so YOU throw shade,
it might as well have been painted, the way YOU justify your ugliness, living like the devil but claiming to be a saint.

Why throw shade to squelch the glow of another?
Where is the love and the heartfelt warm embrace?
Why not celebrate with your sister and your brother?
Instead, YOU grin, and smile in there face, while YOU tear them down behind their backs.
Where is the love of God and neighbor in that?

YOU should give them hope, encouragement, and support to fan their fire,
Sowing a seed of support will give YOU an ember possibility that will heat up to smoke,
where there is smoke there is fire, but YOU throw shade, so there goes your harvest, and their desire…to share.
When they are all broken, here YOU come with somber looks as though YOU care,
when on the inside, YOU are like oh yeah…I am glad they failed.

Are YOU so empty, self-centered and full of fear?
YOU hate on them because of them but they work in,
even though they were stumbling, fumbling, falling and was afraid.
Not always on, at one point in time, YOU thought they were behind.
Long as they needed YOU, you were cool.

Hard work, sweat and some sacrifice, now they good, living well, some would call it nice.
Now they up and standing on their own two, they worked hard and made it happen
They just want to celebrate with YOU, you're mad, in their face YOU smile
Behind their back YOU throw shade, deep down you know YOU could have done it too.
But YOU didn't, YOU wouldn't complaining is the path you took, they put in the time and the work so now you shook.
With a little effort, that could have been YOU.

We were not created to hide our gifts, talents, skills or our light,
we were destined to let them shine bright to drive out the darkness of the night…the world's system
YOU lost the battle, failed the test, not because YOU were not able,
because YOU refused to stand and endure the fight
Why didn't YOU give your best?…like spoiled children, YOU throw shade to continue your gripe.

YOU would rather look at others and how easy their life was made,
truth is they endured the trials and tribulations,
but the lazy seek to throw shade---- as a form of justification.
YOU look for the weakness those hidden shortcomings, something to stop them,
No encouraging words YOU look to throw shade as a form of light modifications and subtle torment.

How can I stop this light from being so bright, YOU think to your weak-minded self
Can I hinder their flow and stop the expansion of their light?
what can I do to make it fade, oh yeah I can create FAKE NEWS and throw much shade.

Cast a deep dark shadow on your family, friends, and enemies so they won’t look better than YOU,
doubt on whatever it is they are doing so YOU can keep screwing up your own life,
we would rather do they harm, work little or not at all
and still, get paid, where they do that at?
oh yeah, over there with lazy, small-minded folks that live and feed on throwing shade.

The problem with the shade is it only lasts for a moment, truth
it is a matter of perspective, direction and the source of the light.

Light moves in and darkness must flee,
where there is light darkness can no longer exist, I am light
no darkness can stand near me, the light of truth has set you free.

To all of YOU that are haters, back bitters, double-talking, backstabbing people, that live to throw shade.
Thank you, I am a light, always on, even when I fall my light still shines
Made in his image, my Father, my God, faithful, saved and delivered
victory assured no matter the trial…ups or downs in life, trust I'll win and be fine.

Your shade of quit may touch me,
but it won’t stop me, I will use it as fuel, to regroup, repurpose, and I regain all that may have been lost.
So cast your shade, I need it to cool me off,
when I get a little too hot-headed, or too puffed up and think I made it,
in the end, I am still light so in my life that makes me the Boss,
Inner light wins, outer darkness loss.

Throw your shade…it's food for my faith, so I thank you.
